The Amici String Camp will be celebrating its fifth summer in 2012. This camp is always full so early registration is essential to avoid disappointment! Look for full details of the camp and the registration form to appear on the website in January.

The Amici StringCamp is for young players aged 5 -15 who are looking for a fun, but intensive musical experience. We offer three different programs:

  1. The Paganini Program: This is a full-day program for players who have a minimum Suzuki Book 2/RCM Grade 3 level of playing, with a minimum age of 8.
  2. The Corelli Program: For those players with less experience (a minimum of one year of lessons), aged 6 - 10, we offer a two-hour morning program.
  3. Introduction To The Violin: This perennially popular program will run again this summer for one and a half hours in the afternoons. This is for brand new beginners aged 5 and up.

The 2010 String Camp ratings were exceptional: 60% of respondents rated the overall musical experience as Fantastic and 37% as Really Good.

From 2008 - 2010 the Amici String Program ran our extremely successful CASS-Amici strings camp in conjunction with CASSA. We are very grateful to CASSA for all their organizational and financial support during those years. For information on CASSA's other camps, please go to: calgaryartssummer.com/camps/camps.html

For older students, consider our newcamp for advanced players:

"Music gives people a voice that is uniquely theirs. This can happen through an instrument or in the way that music helps people identify both simple and complex emotions. At its best, music transports one into a different world. When one returns to the normal world one has a
greater perspective on existence."
— Yo-Yo Ma
